[x_custom_headline type=”left” level=”h4″ looks_like=”h4″]Many people can become so buried with their problems and the troubles of life, that they just don’t feel like they are going to make it. But the good news is that you are not only going to make it, you are going to overcome in a big way if you will simply apply the Word of God to your life.[/x_custom_headline]
[x_blockquote cite=”1 John 4:4 KJV” type=”left”]“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”[/x_blockquote]
So that tells us that you are going to make it, no matter how fierce the battle is that you are facing today. Yet it is essential that you begin to draw on the Greater One living within you, no matter how hopeless things may appear.
To stir you up in this, here is a confession of faith that I have always loved. Say this out loud: “The Greater One indwells me. He puts me over. I have His ability. That’s what I have, and that’s who I am.”
The Apostle Paul had major problems in his life, most of which seemed insurmountable. And yet he overcame them. Look at this list of problems and difficulties and attacks that Paul faced. Yet he won!
[x_blockquote cite=”2 Corinthians 11:23-28 KJV” type=”left”]“23 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. 24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. 25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; 26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; 27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. 28 Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.”[/x_blockquote]
I’d imagine if you had even half of the problems Paul lists, you’d probably feel like you weren’t going to make it. And it probably seemed like that to Paul at times, too. But Paul learned to fight the good fight of faith (see 1 Timothy 6:12). And for you to make it, you will have to do the same thing.
Look at what Paul said:
[x_blockquote cite=”2 Timothy 4:7 KJV” type=”left”]“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:”[/x_blockquote]
You may be in a big fight right now. And you may be fighting for your very life. But fight the good fight of faith, knowing that greater is He that is in you than He that is in the world.
Paul was saying, “I didn’t quit. And I wasn’t defeated! I’m going to finish my course and my race, because I’m going to make it!”
Paul was giving this wisdom to his son in the faith Timothy, who was facing a major battle. He was telling him he was going to make it, too. And since greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world, I am declaring over you today that you are going to make it and win over every adversity in your life.
[highlight]Just think about the goodness of God and how much He loves you.[/highlight] In fact, anyone who knows you so well that He numbers even the hairs on your head, is someone who loves you very deeply (see Matthew 10:30). So do you honestly think He’s going to let you down? He’s not finished with you yet, and He wants you to win!
The Lord hasn’t quit on you, so don’t give up and quit on Him.
Many times I think people forget that when they face hard times that God is not only working on their circumstances but He is also working on them. You may be like the vessel the potter was working on that the prophet Jeremiah wrote about (see Jeremiah 18:1-6). The vessel was marred but the potter kept working on it until he fixed it. So just remember, God isn’t finished with you yet, either!
We are the people of God, and He isn’t giving up on us. So be encouraged! The Lord is still working on you. And while He is:
- Don’t stop praying!
- Don’t stop giving!
- Don’t stop walking in love!
- Don’t stop going to church!
- Don’t stop helping others!
- Don’t stop reading your Bible!
No matter how things look today, keep fighting the good fight of faith. Also, it is important that you do not resist the work the Lord may be doing in your life right now, either. So don’t quit now, because you are going to make it.
