[x_custom_headline type=”left” level=”h4″ looks_like=”h4″]As Americans, we must be very thankful for the liberties that have been provided for us through the sacrifice of others. For example, Patrick Henry stated, “I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death.” And it was John Adams, the second President of the United States who said, “Posterity, you will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that ever I took half the pains to preserve it.”[/x_custom_headline]

However, as Christians, we must be even more thankful for the liberties that have been provided for us through the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. Because the freedom we have in Jesus is true freedom, eternal freedom.

[x_blockquote cite=”Colossians 1:12-14 KJV” type=”left”]“12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: 13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:”[/x_blockquote]

Jesus fought and won the battle for our freedom. We have been completely and totally set free from Satan and the powers of darkness, by the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is our Freedom!

And because Jesus has opened the door to our true freedom, there is no reason to stay in bondage to any work of the devil any longer.

[x_blockquote cite=”2 Corinthians 3:17 KJV” type=”left”]“Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”[/x_blockquote]

It is the power of the Holy Spirit that breaks the powers of darkness off from our lives. It is the work of the Holy Spirit that sets us free and keeps us free.

There are two realms of liberty: the natural and the spiritual.

Liberty means that you’ve been set free, and that you are not bound anymore to what had you enslaved previously. That’s good news because it is true freedom.

Now something you must understand is that where liberty and freedom come to us by the Spirit of God, and where He is present and actively involved, it is also true that where the spirit of the devil is, there is no liberty, only bondage. So then, if the Spirit of the Lord is not involved in whatever it is you are doing, then you are only getting yourself in deeper and deeper bondage, and moving yourself further and further away from the true freedom available only through Jesus.

You have to defend your liberty and freedom that you have in Christ. The devil will try to challenge you on it all of the time. But because of the shed Blood of Jesus and the price He paid for you, true freedom is already yours but you can’t allow the devil to talk you out of it.

Sometimes you have to declare your liberty in Christ Jesus. When temptation to fall back into old habits that you have been delivered from, speak up and declare that Jesus has set you free from those things.

When the devil attempts you get you back into the bondage of sickness and disease, or poverty and lack, or fear and worry, or depression and feelings of inadequacy and hopelessness, speak up and declare your freedom in Jesus Christ.

[highlight]A real Christian doesn’t want to get saved and still continue to live in the same environment, and the same bondage.[/highlight] We have a purpose. God has delivered us for a reason.

One reason is for you to tell everyone that you know about what Jesus has done for you, and about how He has set you free. In fact, your personal story of how you came to Jesus is the most powerful sermon you could ever preach.

Come out of the bondages of the devil and be who you really are. Be a truly free Christian. You do this by hating evil, by hating sin, and by loving God!

It’s time to come out of the lion’s den! It’s time to come out of the fiery furnace! And it’s time to come out of the bondage of the enemy!

[x_blockquote cite=”Galatians 5:1 KJV” type=”left”]“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.”[/x_blockquote]

Jesus has totally set us free from all the bondages of the enemy. But we cannot take our liberty in Christ for granted.

We must stand fast in that liberty that the Lord Jesus has provided to us, or the devil will work to bring us back into bondage. Choose to stand firmly in the true freedom which the Father God has given you through His Son Jesus, and tell others everywhere about how sweet this freedom really is.
