[x_blockquote cite=”Genesis 1:26-28 KJV ” type=”left”]“26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”[/x_blockquote]
God is the author of families. Also notice that God’s blessing is upon His creation, the family.
Although we were created for blessing, many people have been, or are being raised, under a curse! Parents, you have a responsibility to raise your children according to the standards of God’s Word, not according to the standards of the day in which we live.

[x_blockquote cite=”Psalm 112:1-2 KJV” type=”left”]“1 Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. 2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.”[/x_blockquote]
The door to the blessings of Psalm 112 hangs on two hinges:
- Walking in the fear of the Lord
- Delighting in His commandments.
VS. 2 – The “blessed” man’s seed shall be mighty upon the earth.
[highlight]MIGHTY[/highlight] = powerful warriors; champions; valiant men and women.
This is to be the outcome of the descendents of those who will walk in the fear of the Lord, and who delight greatly in His commandments. If you won’t do verse one above for yourself, then at least do it for your kids!
[highlight]SEED[/highlight] = many or multiple generations.
This isn’t referring to just your own kids being blessed but also to your grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, etc.
[x_custom_headline type=”center” level=”h4″ looks_like=”h4″]TELL YOUR OFFSPRING ABOUT GOD’S MERCY[/x_custom_headline]
[x_blockquote cite=”Psalm 103:17-18 KJV” type=”left”]“17 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children; 18 To such as keep his covenant, and to those that remember his commandments to do them.”[/x_blockquote]
If we will be doers of the Word we can expect the mercy of God to rest upon both us and our children.
[x_blockquote cite=”Psalm 89:1 KJV” type=”left”]“1 I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.”[/x_blockquote]
By the words we speak we should be continually making known God’s faithfulness to our children. We are responsible to teach our children the things of the Lord.
[highlight]As good and important as children’s ministries and Sunday school classes are, you are making a big mistake if you think all of the biblical and spiritual upbringing of your children will be accomplished through those alone.[/highlight] You must teach your children how to live for the Lord, why we live for the Lord, how big and awesome our God is, and so on.
[x_custom_headline type=”center” level=”h4″ looks_like=”h4″]PEACE AND PROTECTION[/x_custom_headline]
[x_blockquote cite=”Isaiah 54:13-14, 17 KJV ” type=”left”]“13 And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children. 14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee. 17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.”[/x_blockquote]
Peace and protection have been promised to our children if WE will teach them the Word of God. We must teach our kids to serve Jesus all of the days of their lives.
VS. 17 – This is our heritage that we should be passing on to our children.
[x_blockquote cite=”Isaiah 8:18 KJV” type=”left”]“18 Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.”[/x_blockquote]
Our children are to be dedicated to the Lord for signs and wonders in these last days. But they won’t be if we don’t teach them the Word and how to serve the Lord. Even though they are raised in a “Christian home” they will still end up just like the other kids of the world if we don’t.
[x_custom_headline type=”center” level=”h4″ looks_like=”h4″]YOU MUST TEACH YOUR CHILDREN [/x_custom_headline]
[x_blockquote cite=”Psalm 78:1-8 KJV” type=”left”]“1 Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth. 2 I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old: 3 Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. 4 We will not hide them from their children, shewing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done. 5 For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: 6 That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children: 7 That they might set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep his commandments: 8 And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.”[/x_blockquote]
The problems of past generations can change when we instruct our children in the Lord. If we don’t then the problems of past generations will be the problems of our children as well.
[highlight]Having a godly home is not an option.[/highlight] A godly home not only impacts you and your children but it will also impact many generations to come.
