[x_custom_headline type=”left” level=”h4″ looks_like=”h4″]It must bring enormous frustration to the devil and his kingdom every time you testify about what the Lord has done in your life. Because your testimony is your story of victory. It is the tale that you tell to let others know that the Word of God prevailed in your life, and that you triumphed over the attacks of the enemy.[/x_custom_headline]
In many ways your testimony is like trophies on a trophy shelf that you display to others of your past victories. They tell others that you not only defeated the enemy, but also how you conquered him and the attack he brought against your life by using your faith in God’s promises, and by the Blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ.
[x_blockquote cite=”Revelation 12:11 NASU” type=”left”]“And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.”[/x_blockquote]
When you are under pressure, begin to recall your previous testimonies and begin to share them often. It will stir up others to believe God and stand their ground on the Word of God, of course. But equally as important, it will stir you up again to not sit in an attitude of defeat, or to give up while you are in the middle of a storm not of your own making.
You need to realize that there is both great power, as well as great value in your testimony. And both you and the others who hear your stories of how you overcame when you encountered the enemy on the battlefield of life, will benefit from hearing them. And I might add, there is tremendous benefit that comes from hearing them repeatedly.
[x_blockquote cite=”1 Corinthians 15:57 KJV” type=”left”]“But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”[/x_blockquote]
To be clear, when you are giving testimony of your past victories, you are not bragging on you, you are bragging on Jesus Christ. It is Jesus who gives us the victory. It is His Word that builds faith inside of us that we use to move the mountains of adversity that rise up against us. It is His power and anointing that removes every burden and destroys every yoke of oppression that comes against us. And it is His Name, the Name that is above every name, that causes the enemy to flee from us in sheer terror.
[x_blockquote cite=”1 John 4:4 KJV” type=”left”]“Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.”[/x_blockquote]
When you tell others your stories, you are testifying about the Greater One who lives big inside of you. And what you must realize is that your testimony announces to all who hear that Jesus Christ is alive and full of power, and that you have won the victory because of He who lives within you.
What Jesus did in the Bible He is still doing today. And your testimony is living proof of that. And other people, believers and unbelievers alike, desperately need to hear your testimonies.
This is really sad, but in many churches today, the people are not being taught about what the Lord Jesus will do for them today, but only what the Lord once did for His people, a long, long time ago. They aren’t being taught that He still works mightily in His children who will ask Him to, and who believe in His Word so that He can move on their behalf.
Instead many people are taught that our Lord no longer moves as He once did, as if He has gone into some self-imposed retirement season. But I assure you that He has not. In fact, the Bible tells us the exact opposite of this unbiblical theory. The Lord hasn’t changed at all. He is still the same.
[x_blockquote cite=”Hebrews 13:8 KJV” type=”left”]“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”[/x_blockquote]
So, keep your testimony alive and tell it often. Others need to hear it and so do you. And no matter how difficult things may be in your life right now, never forget that today is a great time to share your stories of victory. Because there is no better time that right now to testify of the goodness of God. Without a doubt, it’s testimony time!
