[x_custom_headline type=”left” level=”h4″ looks_like=”h4″]It’s sad to say this but it appears to me that many of our end-time believers are spiritual weaklings. They are often pushovers and easily defeated by the schemes of the devil. Christians are not supposed to be weak; they are supposed to be strong in the Lord. And what’s more, we are supposed to be growing from one degree of strength to another. We should be growing stronger every day.[/x_custom_headline]
[x_blockquote cite=”Psalm 84:4-7 KJV” type=”left”]“4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah. 5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them. 6 Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools. 7 They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.”[/x_blockquote]
Did you notice in the verse above that you and I are supposed to grow from strength to strength? That sounds like we are on a journey to me. Every day on this journey we should know the Lord and His Word more intimately, and grow from the strength this knowledge provides us with.
Yesterday’s strength isn’t enough. We are in a new day with new challenges to overcome. Weak Christians are not overcomers, they are the ones who are being overcome. Weak Christians don’t enjoy the thrill of victory, only the agony of defeat. They are not the conquerors, they are the conquered. But God never intended it to be that way.
[x_blockquote cite=”Ephesians 6:10, 12 KJV” type=”left”]“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”[/x_blockquote]
Evil spirits don’t obey the commands of weak Christians. Being strong in the Lord makes a champion out of you! Being weak makes you cowardly. If you are a weakling, you become a doormat for the devil. There are no weak Christians taking ground for the Kingdom of God. Instead they run off from every form of adversity they face in life.
Being overloaded with excess baggage in your life will make you a weak Christian. Any load and encumbrance from worry and trouble and the pressure of this life that you are carrying, will drain all of the strength out of you, and leave you vulnerable to the enemy.
If you are a weak Christian it is because you haven’t done what you need to do to be strong in the Lord. Strong Christians faithfully attend church. However, Christians who insist on lugging around needless baggage are filled with excuses for why they do not.
Strong Christians read their Bibles and pray every day. However, the overloaded crowd doesn’t do these things, because they have too many other things on their minds.
Growing and developing a genuine personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ will be sacrificed if you insist on dragging along a wearisome load on your journey. Knowing God intimately is a key to being strong in the Lord and overcoming adversity.
[x_blockquote cite=”Daniel 11:32 AMP” type=”left”]“And such as violate the covenant he shall pervert and seduce with flatteries, but the people who know their God shall prove themselves strong and shall stand firm and do exploits [for God].”[/x_blockquote]
It will only be those who are strong in the Lord who will be doing great exploits for God in these last days. Will you be one of them? Will you make this journey from one degree of strength to a greater degree of strength? Will you do what is necessary to grow stronger every day?
