[x_custom_headline type=”left” level=”h4″ looks_like=”h4″]Tithing is a covenant connector. If you don’t tithe you are still operating in the world’s system. And what you must understand is that the world’s system is cursed (see Malachi 3:9 and Galatians 3:13-14). Now please understand that God is not cursing you if you don’t tithe. But you are living under a system that is cursed. And in that cursed world system is where all of the terror and calamity and sickness and evil and financial failure is that Satan uses to attack God’s people with. [/x_custom_headline]
Tithing provides you protection from the curse.
Let’s look at what the Lord spoke through the prophet Malachi for further insight on this subject.

For us to walk in the fullness of our redemption and enjoy the blessings of our covenant with God, we must stop operating as the world does. The world does not present tithes and offerings to the Lord and the work of His Kingdom, but then most Christians don’t either. And this is also why most Christians do not enjoy God’s bountiful blessings and His protection from the wicked devourer who comes to steal, kill, and destroy (see John 10:10).
[x_blockquote cite=”Malachi 3:10-11 KJV” type=”left”]“10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. 11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.”[/x_blockquote]
Did you notice what the Lord says to the tither above? He says, “I will rebuke the devourer for your sake.” Now that is divine protection. That is God shielding you, and getting between you and destruction. That is the Lord putting a stop to that which has prevented you from walking in the fulness of the blessing of His holy covenant.
The devil is looking for opportunities to devour us (I Peter 5:8). Not tithing is an open invitation to the devil to bring about devastation and ruin into your life. So many Christians have deceived themselves into believing that tithing will only produce shortage and loss in their lives. However, the Bible makes it abundantly clear that the exact opposite is actually what will take place.
While others choose to disobey God and live under a cursed world’s system that is only bringing harm and destruction into their lives at every turn, those of us who are tithers have slammed the door shut to the devil’s destruction in our lives. The Almighty God Himself rebukes the devil on behalf of the tither.
If you are continuing to operate in the world’s system by not tithing, then you are being deceived by the devil. It’s a trap! Satan is using money as a trap in your life to keep you within enemy territory, and well within the range of his weapons that have been designed against you.
If you are not tithing you are in a money trap. The devil has tricked you into holding on to money so tightly that you are even willing to steal from Almighty God Himself. Robbing God places you out from behind God’s shield of protection, and the devil knows it. Don’t be like so many foolish Christians who have been left wide open to the onslaughts of the enemy because of their refusal to honor God with tithes and offerings. Is it worth missing out on God’s covenant blessings? Not in a million years!
Nearly forty years ago I was employed for a time with a delivery company, driving their delivery trucks. The truck I drove would look very similar to any package delivery truck servicing your area, like FedEx or UPS, for exampe. The truck I was assigned to drive was a dog! It was really bad. It was twenty-five years old when I went to work driving it, and once you had the truck moving up to speed, it was okay, but getting it there was another story.
It has always been my personal philosophy that if you drive a dog car or truck you should stay in the far right lane, so that others won’t become jammed up behind you. One day while making my deliveries, driving north on a six-lane street, I was holding true to my philosophy and driving in the far right lane. But as I was approaching a traffic signal that had just turned red, I heard the Lord say to me, “Get into the middle lane.”
His voice was a clear as clear could be. There was a car in front of me in the right lane and another car approaching the signal in the left lane. There was no one ahead of me in the middle lane, so I followed the Lord’s instruction and changed lanes. This placed me in the first position in the line of cars waiting for the light to change to green.
When the traffic light did change to green, something supernatural happened to me. When I let off of the clutch and hit the gas my truck seemed to launch forward propelling me through the intersection. That was something that had never, ever happened to me in that truck previously. Never!
At the same instant, another car coming from the west ran through their red light and slammed violently into the rear quarter panel of the car on my left. This caused both cars to spin out of control behind my suddenly jet-propelled truck, and then they crashed into the first and second car in the far-right lane. Had I not obeyed the Lord, I would have been the second vehicle in the right lane!
This terrible car wreck produced mangled cars and injured bodies. Police cars, fire trucks and ambulances were everywhere. But I came through the entire situation without so much as an elevated heart rate. And before Almighty God I tell you the truth. My very first thought I had as the cars were crashing around me was, “Thank God I’m a tither!”
Tithing is a covenant connector that causes the blessings the Lord has promised us in His Word to come to pass in our life. One of these is the devourer being rebuked for our sake. And just this one covenant blessing alone is why I am here today, explaining to you how to connect with God’s covenant blessings.
