Perhaps you haven’t considered this, but our ability to stand our ground in the battles of life is found in the fact that Jesus died, was buried, and rose from the dead victorious over Satan and the kingdom of darkness. The truth is, our life began at the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the foundational principle of the new birth. The moment you received Jesus as your Lord, your spirit was recreated, and the incorruptible seed was implanted within your spirit. However, as I stated above, none of this could have happened in your life had Jesus not risen from the dead.
Without the resurrection, there is no gospel. Without the resurrection, all mankind would be doomed to hell for eternity. And without the resurrection, we would be hopeless, and life would have no purpose.
“12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: 14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. 15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. 16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. 18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.” 1 Corinthians 15:12-19 KJV
It is so awesome to realize that because Jesus has risen from the dead, no born again believer ever faces a hopeless situation. In fact, you should use your faith and allow the Lord to apply His resurrection power to the hopeless situations in your life, and totally transform them. Why live miserable, when you have access to the resurrection power of God?
The redemption of mankind hinged upon the resurrection of Christ from the dead. And what’s more, the resurrection was the final evidence that Jesus had paid the price for our complete redemption. The fact that Jesus is risen, is proof that we don’t have to stay bound to sin, sickness, poverty, or any of the works of darkness.
Furthermore, gaining a revelation of the power of resurrection makes you a Christian who knows no defeat (see Ephesians 3:20).
The day that Jesus was crucified was the day the price was paid once and for all for our redemption. But the day that He rose victorious over death, hell and the grave, is the day when every man, woman, boy and girl could live the abundant life, if only they would receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior (see John 10:10; Romans 10:9-10).
“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” Romans 8:11 KJV
The same Holy Ghost that raised Jesus from the dead, will energize your body to live Godly. And the same Holy Ghost that raised Jesus from the dead, will heal your body from every sickness and every disease.
Because Jesus has risen from the dead, there is absolutely no reason for us to ever tolerate anything the devil is doing in our life. The resurrection is proof of our victory over the devil, because Jesus is in us and we are in Him. And we have been seated with Him in Heavenly places far above all the works of the devil, all because Jesus is alive and is risen from the dead (see Ephesians 2:5-6).
When resurrection power is manifested in your body, sin, sickness, fear and everything else from the enemy, has to go from you. This is why we must arise in resurrection power.
When Jesus was raised from the dead, it finalized Satan’s defeat. Now, all of the ability of the devil has been broken.
“Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” Romans 6:4 KJV
The resurrection of Jesus Christ allows us to live a completely different life than those who have never been born again. We can now walk in “newness of life,” all because He is risen from the dead.
Don’t live a defeated life. And don’t allow yourself to be miserable and hopeless and empty. Because He is risen, and you need to arise in resurrection power, too.
